RCE QAS Participants
Who can participate in the RCE QAS?
Anybody (individuals or organizations) working directly with children to realise their Right to Education can be a Participant. This can be schools (in-person, on-line, or hybrid), institutions other than schools (e.g. tutors, libraries, community/sports centers/coaches, children/youth clubs), home educating parents, etc. Working directly with children is required because the RCE Quality Assurance System is about respecting Children's Rights in the provision of Education.
Participants are classified as follows:
- Parent(s) / Guardian(s), exercising My/Our "responsibility, right and duty to provide appropriate direction and guidance to My/Our Child/ren in the exercise of their rights" as provided in §5 of the UN CRC.[1]
- State School, acting in loco parentis for §5 of the UN CRC, and obliged under the UN CRC to respect Children's Rights.
- Independent School, acting in loco parentis for §5 of the UN CRC (Note: §29 2 of the UN CRC assures the right to establish Independent schools)
- State institution other than a School, working directly with Children, obliged under the UN CRC to respect Children's Rights.
- Individual/s committing to respect Children's Rights.
- Independent (i.e. non-State) Organization other than a School, committing to respect Children's Rights.
What information should be provided?
We will publish the names of the Participants (individual, or organization (including a contact person)) of the Quality Assurance System. You will also require an email address that will be used to access the QAS (to submit reports) If you wish to remain anonymous you should use a suitable pseudonym and an email address that does not identify you. If you wish to provide additional contact information (telephone number, email address, website, etc.) you will have the opportunity to do so.
- ↑ It is expected that Parents / Guardians of children whose Right to Education is being realized out-of-school (aka Home Educated children) will benefit the most in participating in the QAS
